Recently renovated buildings in this Cambridge college were specified with a lighting control system utilising DALI and KNX to simplify various maintenance tasks, including the requirement for the college to periodically test the emergency lighting system. The KNXperts control system fully automates this task, eliminating hours of meticulous record keeping, and sending the maintenance department an email containing the results of the duration tests, which are automatically initiated according to a pre-defined schedule. The status of every light fitting in the entire system can be seen on a touch panel in the college’s maintenance department, and in the event of hardware errors, each individual lighting circuit can be manually overridden.
